Tethered or Untethered EV Chargers?
The main difference between tethered and untethered EV chargers is how the charging cable is attached. Of course they both charge your car, but there a two distinct differences.
Tethered means the charging cable is permanently attached to the charging unit. It cannot be removed.
Untethered car chargers have a detachable charging cable which you can take with you wherever you go.
